NFL Power Rankings Week 14

NFL Power Rankings Week 14

Week 13 proved to be unlucky for some power house teams.  The Patriots go down to the Dolphins and the defending champion Steelers go down to… the Raiders?  Yes, it’s true; the defending champs lose at home to the Raiders and are in serious trouble of missing the playoffs.  Elsewhere, the Giants upend Dallas and the Cardinals beat the Vikings in a pair of miniature upsets.  And who could ignore QB Michael Vick’s return to Atlanta?  With just over a month until the playoffs, here are the week 14 rankings and how each team’s playoff chances are looking.

Teams’ previous ranking in ( ).

With the Falcons loss, the Saints clinched the NFC South. They have clinched their division and are close to clinching home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Is he running out of gas again? They face a tough test next week as they play the Vikings; should they come out with a win, they will have the

NFL Week 16 Power Rankings: Indianapolis Remains on Top

NFL Week 16 Power Rankings – Indianapolis Remains on Top

No.1 Indianapolis Colts 14-0

The Colts worked the Jaguars of Jacksonville, kicking the sleek cats with those powerful young hooves, and stomping them into the turf.

No. 2 New Orleans Saints 13-1

New Orleans lost a game to Dallas, who the game meant much more to, and dropped a spot to No 2. They will finish the season at 15-1 and stay at this position into the playoffs.

No. 3 Minnesota Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings rebounded from their Arizona defeat by chopping up the Bengals, piece by piece. Minnesota should also win out to finish at 14-2 and keep the No. 3 ranking into the playoffs. They are a dangerous team to face on the road.

No. 4 San Diego Chargers

The San Diego Chargers may be finally at the dream season they have been waiting for. Beat Cincinnati at home and wrap this division up in

NFL Week 12 Picks Relying on Thanksgiving Spirit: 2009 NFL Week 12 Picks

NFL Week 12 Picks Relying on Thanksgiving Spirit: Last week, I took a philosophy that things in the NFL were going to start to make sense. If five favorites covering spreads and the defending Super Bowl Champions losing to the Chiefs represent order, then it’s hard to believe in anything anymore.

This week, no matter what any expert tells you, it’s going to come down to guesses.

Was the offensive explosion from the Browns and Lions indicative of things to come, or products of abysmal defenses? Did the Steelers really lose to the Chiefs, and at what level will Ben Roethlisberger

play against a hard-hitting Baltimore defense? How will the six teams facing a very short week respond to the quick three-day turnaround?

Nobody knows, but maybe, just maybe, the giving spirit will permeate the league over the holiday weekend.

Carolina Panthers – Past and Present

It was at the later quarter of 1993 that the Carolina Panthers were awarded an NFL expansion franchise. Thousands of people literally celebrated with this good news. Businessman Jerry Richardson, the person who led Carolina’s bid, proclaimed the award to be a dream come true. The dream started way back 1987 when Richardson met other interested parties to discuss the feasibility of entering a multi-city competition for two NFL expansion franchises.

Everything was made official December of the same year. After a year of tedious planning, Hall of Fame Mike McCormack was hired as a consultant for the expansion effort. Selecting the stadium site was the first thing to be done and the site in Uptown Charlotte was chosen. Because of the huge efforts put into the Carolina’s franchise bid, a lot of support was received from then US Senators Jesse Helms and Ernest Hollings as well as Governors Carroll Cambell and Jim Martin. Fans also did their part by

Popular college floor mats

I have been showing my automotive dealers a moving product I picked up that display
college floor mats. As the dealers are eager to increase sales and will try
anything new; the program has been a winner. There are so many pro and college
football fans and they love to embody their team. Face it we all have automobiles and
mostly have inferior auto mats. I live on the coast so we are constantly tracking
sand into the car. These college mats collect the sand and I just pull it out and
empty it.

I am a University of South Carolina Fan and live in Charleston. The Carolina floor mats are the big seller along with Clemson mats. But what surprises me is the request for New York Yankee floor mats and Boston Red Sox mats. Their is such a movement from the north to live in SC. But they still love their teams. I even sold an Ohio State floor mat the other day. who would of thunk it!

The popularity also is found in the pro

NFL Power Rankings Week 10: Decided

All in all it was a 2-10 ATS count for Sunday betting in the NFL and a day like that can create a lot of hesitation for bettors making picks and sports freaks for the week ahead. Finally, NFL Power Rankings Week 10 are decided now.

It was a rough weekend for anyone betting favorites as teams like Tampa Bay, Tennessee and San Diego played well enough to not only ruin the bet for pointspread players, but teaser bettors as well.

The Buccaneers, complaining early in the week of lingering jetlag symptoms from their trip to jolly old London, paid moneyline bettors at more than 4-to-1 odds for that shocking defeat of the shattered, battered and bruised Packers team.

Even the favorites in Jacksonville, Indianapolis, New England and New Orleans –teams we all really expect to play well every week, won straight-up but failed to cover the spread. Oops, scratch the Jaguars from that ranking list.

If you had an

The History Of The Philadelphia Eagles

Here is the long awaited part 2 of the player intros of the NFC championship game against the Atlanta Falcons. Go Birds!
Video Rating: 5 / 5

The History Of The Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles came about in 1933 and were named for one of FDRs symbols of the New Deal during the Great Depression. They are based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and have made two Super Bowl appearances in the years 1980 and 2004 and have won three NFL titles.

They have several players who are in the pro football Hall of Fame. They include an owner and former NFL Commissioner Bert Bell and quite a few players. The players are Bob Brown, Reggie White, Chuck Bednarik, Steve Van Buren, Earle “Greasy” Neale, Tommy McDonald, Sonny Jurgensen, and Pete Pihos.

The team struggled during their first years as a team. They endured many a losing season during the 1930s. The 1940s were not much better when shortages in manpower due to World War II made it a time almost impossible to fill rosters and staff. In 1943 the manpower shortages were so bad that in order to field a team the Eagles temporarily merged with Pittsburgh Steelers to form

NFL Predictions: 2010 NFC South Odds Favor Saints

Todd Yoder makes a beautiful catch at the back of the endzone, keeping both feet in, against the Atlanta Falcons on 11/8/09. Why is it that the crowd seems to erupt in cheers after Yoder’s catch was ruled a touchdown? The Redskins were on the road, so are Falcons “fans” really that weak? Kind of sad how the Redskins sounded like they were the home team after that touchdown was scored. Anyone else agree? The Falcons would win the game 31-17.

NFL Predictions: 2010 NFC South Odds Favor Saints

The New Orleans Saints have opened as expensive -150 favorites to repeat as champions in NFC South odds with the Atlanta Falcons as the second choice at +200. The Carolina Panthers +600 were the third choice in 2010 NFL predictions at online sportsbooks while the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were the longshot offering at +2000. The defending Super Bowl Champion Saints may prove to be something of an overlay in 2010 NFL odds despite their obvious ability, especially on offense. While the Drew Brees led offense can seemingly score at will the defense is still questionable and the fear of a Super Bowl hangover, which is a challenge for any championship team, is a legitimate concern.

The Saints have the advantage of playing in one of the weakest divisions in pro football, but there are two teams that have had recent success who may rise to provide a challenge. The Atlanta Falcons were the surprise team of the NFC South in NFL predictions for the 2008

Nfl Power Rankings – Conference Championship Edition

Well, boys and girls, it comes down to this. Two men enter, one man leaves. The Holy Grail of Gambling is just eight short quarters away and I truly believe that we have the two best teams in each conference matched up to decide who gets to plunge into the two-week gauntlet of Sex, Money, and Depravity that lead up to the Super Bowl.

I’m not going to waste your time rehashing the same hackneyed storylines this week. If you don’t know that:

A) Tom Brady is good in the playoffs. Peyton Manning isn’t.

B) Bill Belichick is good in the playoffs. Tony Dungy isn’t.

C) Adam Vinatieri used to kick for the Pats and now kicks for the Colts. He will most likely decide the game.

D) New Orleans was destroyed by a biblical flood and an incompetent government – both federal and local – and the team was displaced as a result. They are what is commonly referred to as a “Feel Good Story”.

E) The
