Quarter’s Worth of Opinions on the NFL

After the first quarter of the National Football League season has been completed, fans can step back and review the early results. I have noticed some developing trends. The following are my observations, broken down by division.

American Football Conference, Eastern Division: Before the quarterback Mark Sanchez finally played like a rookie, Jets’ fans were dreaming of a “Subway Super Bowl” against their cross-town nemeses. Regardless of that loss, the Jets still hold a slight advantage over New England, thanks to their win in the second week. As of it appears now, both team are headed to the playoffs.

American Football Conference, Northern Division:No clear front-runner has emerged yet. Baltimore and Cincinnati are tied at 3-1, followed by 2-2 Pittsburgh. One has to wonder if the Bengals can sustain early-season success in view of recent years of failure. Also, are the Steelers simply feeling lingering effects of Super Bowl hangover and will recover in

Enough is Enough – eCouchCoach.com’s opinion on the Brett Favre retirement show

Enough is Enough – eCouchCoach.com’s opinion on the Brett Favre retirement show

As seen on http://www.ecouchcoach.com/articles.php -

Like any other aging sitcom, the Brett Favre Un-Retirement Show, a show we’ve all seen in recent summers, is in dire need of a pulled plug.

I watched Friends to the cliché end, as Ross and Rachel finally found their inner peace. I sat straight-faced as Seinfeld writers rode off on a horse named Rerun, and I stared blankly as The Sopranos left me hanging, confused, and upset. Let’s face it, all things must come to an end, but not all end like Elway.

Brett Favre has so many reasons to be proud. A second-round draft choice of the Atlanta Falcons, Favre welcomed a trade to the Green Bay Packers and carved out a Hall of Fame resume wearing the gold and green. To scratch the surface I remind you of just a few: three-time league MVP, 10 time Pro-Bowler, and a lengthy NFL record list that is highlighted by career yardage, career touchdowns, and consecutive starts.

Statistically, there is

NFL Power Rankings – Week 17

BetRepublic.com NFL Power Rankings (Week 17)

Going out with a bang seems like a New York Giants kind of thing to do but while playing their final home game in Giants Stadium, someone must have misread the script. New York’s 32-point loss to Carolina on Sunday was the second biggest blowout in a team’s final home game at its stadium since 1970! Only the 1995 St. Louis Rams, who lost to San Francisco by 34 points before closing the doors to Busch Stadium for the last time, have lost by a bigger margin. Adding insult to injury, the Giants were also eliminated from the playoff hunt this weekend and to make matters even worse, the men in blue took a two-point drop in the weekly BetRepublic.com Power Rankings chart.

Here is the latest edition; note the shakeup in the Top 5!

BetRepublic.com Week 17 NFL Power Rankings

1. Indianapolis Colts – Manning takes a seat, Curtis ‘paints’ an ugly picture as backup and the Colts fall to 14-1 SU.

The Growth Of Translation Services In Florida And Georgia

Five hundred years ago, the Spanish landed in Florida and found it to be a land ruled by warring factions and inhabited by hungry alligators.  Consequently, the Spanish decided to leave quickly. Sometimes, people think of Florida as a bastion for old grumpy people.  However, Florida has great importance to the rest of the world, this can easily be seen in its translation, and interpretation workers.  With Florida strong growth and international attraction, it is a great place for people in the language interpretation and translation professions.  For example, if you have an interest in providing translation services to the hospitality industry then you will find ample opportunities in Florida because of its theme parks and vacation hotspots.  The theme parks and restaurants in Florida are constantly trying to out-duel each other to their international audiences with high-tech animatronics, virtual experiences, and all-too-real thrill rides where you strap

Wait ? a ? Minute, Run That Back?

I am one of the biggest NFL fans on the face of this planet. I am an even bigger Dallas Cowboys fan. But the NFL shield isn’t as shiny to me anymore; not as glamorous. The sparkly shield the NFL so proudly display’s now has a little rust and few dents in it all because of one man. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

Since being named to the NFL’s highest post Goodell has gained a reputation for being a tough; no non-sense type of guy. (Think Pacman Jones, Tank Johnson, Michael Vick and Chris Henry) According to Goodell; he wants to change the image of the National Football League. So if anyone compromises the integrity of the league, expect an immense punishment.

Well, maybe that does not apply for everyone. (Think Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots)

True Michael Vick compromised the league’s integrity by fighting dogs, lying to the commish and pleading guilty to dog fighting charges. True Pacman Jones

NFL Power Rankings Week 13 2009 Released

NFL Power Rankings Week 13: Last week I published my Week 12 NFL Power Rankings. We have examined the every team in the league and now our week 13 NFL power rankings have been published. Let’s get going with the NFL Power Rankings for Week 13. New Orleans Saints remain on top for week 13 NFL power rankings. Here are some my NFL Power Rankings for Week 13.

Here are some NFL Power Rankings for Week 13 (Last week’s ranking is in brackets):

1 (2) New Orleans Saints (10-0) After seeing the Saints dismantle the Pats, it’s hard not to be excited about the Saints. Not as excited as Jon Gruden, but nobody gets as excited as Jon Gruden.

2 (1) Indianapolis Colts (11-0) Can the team go 16-0? Somewhere Mercury Morris is crapping his pants.

3 (3) Minnesota Vikings (10-1)
Brett Favre threw for a season-high 392 yards against the Bears. How long can he keep this up? Read more..

Michael Vick is Done

It is official; Michael Vick is done with the rest of the NFL season. After deferring to his attorneys, the NFL quarterback has decided to accept a plea deal regarding the dog fighting operation. Vick will be spending at least ten months in jail for his actions. It was fairly obvious that Vick was headed to prison after a significant amount of incriminating evidence was found against him. The defense attorney (Lawrence Woodward) for Michael Vick stated, “Mike’s accepting full responsibility. He’s going to do everything he can personally and professionally to make this situation right.” Another one of Michael’s lawyers (Billy Martin) went on to say, “After consulting with his family over the weekend, Michael Vick asks that I announce today that he has reached an agreement with federal prosecutors regarding the charges pending against him. Mr. Vick has agreed to enter a plea of guilty to those charges and to accept full responsibility for his action and the

NFL Power Rankings Week 14

NFL Power Rankings Week 14

Week 13 proved to be unlucky for some power house teams.  The Patriots go down to the Dolphins and the defending champion Steelers go down to… the Raiders?  Yes, it’s true; the defending champs lose at home to the Raiders and are in serious trouble of missing the playoffs.  Elsewhere, the Giants upend Dallas and the Cardinals beat the Vikings in a pair of miniature upsets.  And who could ignore QB Michael Vick’s return to Atlanta?  With just over a month until the playoffs, here are the week 14 rankings and how each team’s playoff chances are looking.

Teams’ previous ranking in ( ).

With the Falcons loss, the Saints clinched the NFC South. They have clinched their division and are close to clinching home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Is he running out of gas again? They face a tough test next week as they play the Vikings; should they come out with a win, they will have the
