NFL Preseason Week 1: Chiefs at Falcons Odds – 8:00pm EST

Two teams that are full of optimism for 2010 will meet in their respective NFL preseason openers as the Atlanta Falcons host the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday night at 8:00pm EST. Online sportsbooks opened with Atlanta as a 3-point favorite in NFL preseason predictions for week 1 with an over/under football betting total of 34. The Chiefs will have a very busy preseason as they have new coordinators on both sides of the line with Charlie Weiss running the offense and Romeo Crennel running the defense. Both were highly successful coordinators for the New England Patriots earlier this decade during their multiple Super Bowl winning run before bombing out as head coaches.

The Chiefs have plenty of room for improvement as they were 2-14 last year in NFL odds for their first season under new head coach Todd Haley, general manager Scott Pioli, and quarterback Matt Cassel. The Falcons put together their first back-to-back winning seasons since the

This Mississippi native was born in Gulport and grew up in Kiln, which was a very small town with less than 100 residents. This boy who grew up in a small town had nothing but big dreams that he would someday make come true. In his early years, the youngster grew up idolizing a pair of legendary quarterbacks by the name of Archie Manning and Roger Staubach. Having played football at Hancock North Central High School in Kiln, Favre began to get a taste of the game and he loved it. After attending college at the University of Southern Mississippi, he began making his way to the professional league.

Vick Returns To Atlanta Where It All Began

That’s the one of the biggest differences that team management sees between Ryan and the former Falcon Vick who at the height of his glory was the highest paid player in the NFL.
Just as fast as Vick rose to fame after being selected by the Falcons first overall in the 2001 NFL draft out of Virginia Tech University it went an away. Vick at one time was one of the most Famous and praised athletes in the world until he went to prison for running an illegal dog-fighting ring, and even helped train his own dogs which fought in events under the name ” Bad Newz Kennel”.
Once the story leaked it seemed as though Vick was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, until lifelong friends confessed that he helped bank roll and kill the dogs involved right on his own property. Before you could blink an eye he went from role model to one of the most hated people in the country. Even all the accolades he achieved on the field could not overshadow his sins off the

Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos were founded on August 14, 1959 when minor league baseball owner Bob Howsam was awarded an American Football League charter  franchise. The Broncos won the first-ever American Football League game over the Boston Patriots on September 9, 1960. On August 5, 1967, they became the first ever AFL team to defeat an NFL team after beating the Detroit Lions in a preseason game.

In 1995, the Broncos debuted a new head coach, Mike Shanahan, and a new rookie running back, Terrell Davis. During the 1997 season, both would help guide the Broncos to their first Super Bowl victory, a 31–24 win over the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl XXXII. Although Elway completed only 12 of 22 passing attempts, throwing one interception and no touchdowns, Davis rushed for 157 yards and a Super Bowl-record three touchdowns to earn the Super Bowl Most Valuable Player Award – this while overcoming a severe migraine

New Orleans Saints

The Saints was founded in 1967, as an expansion team. The team went more than a decade before they managed to finish a season with a .500 record and two decades before having a winning season. The team’s first successful years were from 1987–1992, when the team made the playoffs four times and had winning records in the non-playoff seasons. In the 2000 season, the Saints defeated the then-defending Super Bowl champion St. Louis Rams for the team’s first playoff win.

The Saints’ home stadium is the Louisiana Superdome; it started to play its home games in the “dome” since 1975. However, due to damage caused by Hurricane Katrina to the New Orleans area, the Saints’ 2005 home opener was played at Giants Stadium against the New York Giants. The remainder of their 2005 home games were split between the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, and LSU’s Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After a 5 million renovation of the historic stadium,

Carolina Pathers

In 1987, former Baltimore Colts player Jerry Richardson met with a group of potential backers to discuss the possibility of bringing an NFL expansion team to the Carolina region. Richardson Sports decided upon a spot in the uptown section of Charlotte to build a privately financed stadium seating more than 70,000 fans.

In 1992, the NFL released the list of five areas open to a potential NFL team. The list includes Baltimore, Maryland; St. Louis, Missouri; Memphis, Tennessee; Jacksonville, Florida; and the Carolinas, represented by Charlotte. The race began again in 1993 for the Panthers. In June of that year, Richardson Sports announced that they would finance the stadium through the sale of Permanent Seat Licenses, club seats, and luxury boxes. In a stunning show of fan support, all seats were sold out by the end of the first day.

The Panthers became the second expansion team to win their first game, winning the annual

Falcons Quarterback Gets 23 Months Sentence

Vick, who was once, one of the highest paid and best profile players in the N.F.L., will lose out the best years of his career after being sentenced to 23 months in prison due to a dog fighting felony. The 27-years-old Falcons’ quarterback who had a 0 million contract and a quite lucrative endorsement deal has now been suspended indefinitely from professional football.

Despite the early admission of the guilt, a public regret and the participation in an animal sensitivity training course; Vick was denied an “acceptance of responsibility” credit which will reduce his sentence. Apparently, Michael was more directly involved than he admitted and also tested positive for marijuana use violation of the terms set for his release.

However, due to federal procedures for good behavior, Vick’s sentence could end as early as the 2009 summer meaning he could eventually play that season. Even though, he is expected to lose millions he

Power in the NFL: Michael Vick

An elementary student who first showed an interest in baseball and basketball, Michael Vick later developed his love of football. Born in June 1980, this Newport News, Virginia native is now the quarterback for the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons.

In his early teens, Vick became involved in football as his choice after-school activity. At that time, he seemingly gave up all other sports in order to concentrate on football. Through high school, his love of football flourished and carried over into his college years. Attending Virginia Teach, Michael Vick gained instant stardom as a collegiate player with 3 rushing touchdowns during his first game. With the help of Vick, the Virginia Tech Hokies enjoyed a phenomenal 11-0 season and secured a seat at the 2000 Bowl Championship Series. Even though they were defeated by Florida, Michael Vick led the team to an impressive comeback after being 21 points down at one point.

During Michael Vick’s inaugural
